The Project Management module like all
those in proALPHA is also fully
integrated and provides the perfect tool
with which to execute those tasks
normally associated with a project's
creation, management and completion.
This multi-user module makes possible
interdepartmental processing and
collaboration by different functional
specialists.
To assist the project team in
maintaining the "big picture" relative
to goals, participants, resources,
schedules and other factors, proALPHA
Project Management provides extensive
graphics to support project design,
network planning and Gantt charts.
The module aids accurate planning of
all resources required for a specific
project. In this way, bottlenecks, or
"collisions" with another project are
identified early enough in the process
to take appropriate alternative
measures.
Project costing contains pre-costing,
actual costing, and even a closing date
costing program for balance sheet
valuations - each with unlimited
options. Estimated costs stemming from
part and capacity planning flow directly
into project costing.
Project Management is a fully
integrated component of proALPHA and
provides access from any part of the
system to all project data. Networked
processing is also possible. For
example, from the project module,
materials planning data can be prepared,
or a work order or purchase order could
be generated. Existing orders can be
moved to other projects.
Integration naturally includes all
proALPHA basic services. Using the
management information system, managers
can access all detailed project data.
Workflow ensures an active flow of
information between project team
members. The Document Management System
(DMS) provides efficiency in the
administration of all project- specific
documents, construction drawings,
specifications, and contracts and always
ensures their availability to all team
members at all times even via the
Internet.
